This year’s Must-Visit Edmonton Playgrounds list was made possible thanks to the generous support of Park N Play Design!

1. Jackie Parker Park
- Edmonton’s biggest playground got bigger – and BETTER – this year with the addition of the sensory and inclusive playground at Jackie Parker Park! The new section features rubber base throughout, the Yalp Sona dance and movement game, the Yalp Memo electronic game, a sensory pathway, a musical garden and MUCH more! Add this new section to the other 5 playgrounds at Jackie Parker Park (Toddler Park, Spray Park, Natural Playground, Standard Playground and Challenge Playground) and you have a stay-all-day Edmonton Playground! The grounds feature a bathroom building, fire pits and stoves, picnic sites, walking trails, a pond and access to a dog park! Jackie Parker Park was designed and built by Park N Play Design.
- Location: Jackie Parker Park, 4540 – 50 Street, Edmonton
- When you visit: Zip a little further east to check out one of the coolest climbers in the city at Maple Playground!

2. Hawrelak Park
- The incredible new playground at Hawrelak Park will be a gathering spot for years to come! Anchored by three massive, climbable trees, this park includes features for kids of all ages! In additional to the massive twisty slide, you’ll also find a couple of hill slides including a very fast tube slide. We also love the climbable chickadees. This playground was designed by Earthscape Play and built by their local partner Park N Play Design.
- Location: Hawrelak Park, 9330 Groat Road, Edmonton
- When you visit: Take a stroll across the river and check out the amazing Howling Coyote playground in Laurier Park!

3. Spruce Grove Central Park
- Grab the bikes, scooters and skateboards and head to Spruce Grove to check out the reimagined Central Park! This incredible community venue features an inclusive playground plus a paved pump track, a dirt bike skills park and a massive skate park. The classic spray deck remains in its original location near the log cabin – and the Spruce Grove Nature Playground is just a short stroll across the street! Spruce Grove Central Park was designed and built by Park N Play Design.
- Location: Spruce Grove Central Park, 450 King Street, Spruce Grove
- When you visit: Another Spruce Grove favourite is the Rotary Playscape – find it on our list of All-Time Best Playgrounds!

4. O-day’min Park
- Edmonton’s first Monstrum Playground – in fact, this playground is noted as “The Fascinating Forest” on the Danish playground company’s website! This playground is small, but worth the visit, not only to play on this exquisite design, but also to enjoy the other outstanding amenities of O-day’min park – bench swings, picnic areas, a fitness park, a dog park, a basketball court and more!
- Location: O-day’min Park, 10154-107 Street, Edmonton
- When you visit: Walk a block to the east to check out the next park on our list!

5. Beaver Hills House Park
- Just a few short steps away from O-day’min park is Beaver Hills House Park and another adorable critter climber! The playground here is tiny, with the beaver and log climbers being the main features. (There are also musical reeds!) Beaver Hills House Park also offers a lovely gathering space and is just steps away from the bright and fun Michael Phair Park with its Confetti Wall!
- Location: Beaver Hills House Park, 10440 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton
- When you visit: you may also enjoy the more traditional playground at Holy Child School, just a few blocks away!

6. Lynnwood Park
- Lynnwood Park’s new playground opened last fall offering a large new playground for west Edmonton! There are a lot of options here – from a unique tall climber and a cool obstacle course to the large main structure and tiny toddler park. The accessible main structure features a ramp, glider and roller slide. Fun accessories here include spinners, bouncing jet skis and an in-ground merry-go-round.
- Location: Lynnwood Park, 15525-84 Avenue, Edmonton
- When you visit: head just a little further south to check out the great playground at Rio Terrace School! It was on our Summer 2024 Must-Visit Playground List.

7. Tipton Park
- Fun Fact – Tipton Park was the first playground built on the south side of the River! What was then Gyro Park #3 has changed significantly over the years and now has a modern and fun design! We love the Zipline Spinner, the in-ground musical merry-go-round and a main structure with slides, climbers and more. This playground was designed and built by Park N Play Design.
- Location: Tipton Park, 10849-81 Avenue, Edmonton
- When you visit: enjoy the Zipline Spinner! We have a full list of the Edmonton Playgrounds with Ziplines and Zipline Spinners!

8. Balwin Playground (Piney’s Playground)
- A pretty special spot! The Edmonton Arts Council worked with artist AJA Louden and playground builder Park N Play Design to build the city’s first ever playground that is also an art installation! A year and a half of work went into the design and creation of Balwin Playground, a.k.a. Piney’s Playground! This playground offers unique climbers, unusual spinners, fun drums and more! When you visit, be sure to line up the pieces to snap a picture of Piney, like the photo here!
- Location: Balwin Playground, 12904 – 74 Street, Edmonton
- When you visit: head north to check out Kildare Playground – another great playground from the class of 2025!

9. Glen Allan School (Sherwood Park)
- The playground update at Glen Allan School is a good one, to be sure – it features a tall slide tower, a zipline with swing seat, a unique tandem swing, a cute care an more – but it’s the painted tarmac that really steals the show here! Painted designs include the Glen Allan Raceway, a massive snakes & ladders game and colourful ribbons to follow! Bikes or scooters would work well here – but a solid pair of sneakers will also do the trick!
- Location: Glen Allan School, 106 Georgian Way, Sherwood Park
- When you visit: you might also check out Heritage Hills School, which addes some equipment this year.

10. Zoie Gardner Park
- One of Edmonton’s cutest spray parks added a new playground this year! The new playground at Zoie Gardner Park carries the jungle theme throughout. (We love the giant frog!) Updates here included adding more benches and picnic tables and a new sport court! The classic animal-theme spray park remains.
- Location: Zoie Gardner Park, 12710-70 Street, Edmonton
- When you visit: zip a little further north to check out another awesome playground/spray park combo at Glengarry Park!

11. Pryce Alderson Park (Fort Saskatchewan)
- Fort Saskatchewan may seem like quite a haul for some for a playground, but the upgraded playground at Pryce Alderson Park offers one-stop shopping for a day of fun! Enjoy the new, brightly-coloured playground with its double corkscrew slide, ramped main structure and cute toddler park. The original spray park remains – along with a bathroom changeroom building. There’s a huge open greenspace, a parking lot, picnic tables and a fitness park too!
- Location: Pryce Alderson Park, 617 Westpark Drive, Fort Saskatchewan
- When you visit: check out one of Fort Saskatchewan’s Cable-Track Ziplines! Our favourite is the one at Andy’s Playground.

12. Clara Tyner School
- Teal and purple – my girls love this playground and it might just be for the colours! I get it – you don’t see many playgrounds with such cool colour combos. The upgraded playground at Clara Tyner School features stripey slides, cool climbers and fun accessory pieces. The completion of Phase 2 at this playground added a big WOW factor replacing the old wooden car and sand pit with this brightly-coloured, modern playspace!
- Location: Clara Tyner School, 9420 Ottewell Road, Edmonton
- When you visit: go just a little further north to find Hardisty School Playground, which also went through an upgrade last year and was the cover photo on our Summer 2025 Must-Visit Playgrounds list!
