This playground was updated in 2025 and prior to the update, I don’t think I really gave it due credit.
New additions include a cool dome climber, a bank of cliffhangers (!), more swings and some spinners. They’re good pieces for an adventure playground and that’s really what the playground at Heritage Hills Elementary School in Sherwood Park is!
You can almost get lost in the maze of climbers, monkey bars, bridges and slides at this playground! In addition to its outstanding obstacle course design, you’ll find some neat standalone pieces – from the Cozy Cabin to a trio of tall climbable evergreen trees. This playground offers a single inclusive option – it’s ramped main entrance leads to a spring-mounted trail bus. The rest of the playground is based in sand.
Find Heritage Hills Elementary School along Sherwood Park’s excellent trail system. There is a small dirt bike skills area across the road from this playground, as well as a fenced dog off-leash area. A large green space and boarded arena complete the amenities in this area. There was a seasonal porta-potty on site during our most recent summer visit.
