The reimagined Central Park in Spruce Grove is going to be a community favourite for years to come!

Central Park will feature an amazing inclusive playground, a paved pump track, a dirt bike skills area, and a skate park.  Picnic tables, benches and park lighting are also part of the redesign. Central Park remains home to some of its classic features like the classic splash pad, the skating oval in the winter, and the log cabin.

The inclusive playground is bright, unique and inviting!  The slide tower is unlike any we’ve found in the capital region and my daughter complimented the design. It offers users several ways to get up to the top level – including a spiral ramp.  There are two huge, twisty slides as well as a roller slide.   (Roller slides are an inclusive feature for a number of reasons. They offer a sensory experience, are often wider to allow parallel play, and remove static electricity making them safe for users with cochlear implants.)

Accessories at this new Spruce Grove playground include panel games, an in-ground merry-go-round, a zipline with an accessible seat and a bank of swings.  The swing set features 1 standard swing, 1 accessible swing, 2 baby swings and one tandem swing.

This playground is set on Spruce Grove’s outstanding trail system. We like cycling the paths further west through the trees.
