With apologies to the legendary Joni Mitchell, they un-paved a parking lot to put up a paradise.

O-Day’Min Park, formerly known as Warehouse Park, brings an exciting community space to Downtown Edmonton.  The new park extends from between 106 Street to 108 Street and Jasper Avenue to 102 Avenue.

A natural theme runs through the playground. The signature piece is a deer at the centre of the playspace. There are swings, slides, climbers and spring riders all set in a base of rubber. Playground enthusiasts like me may recognize the name Monstrum Playgrounds – this playground was designed by the famous Danish playground company Monstrum Playgrounds and built locally by Alberta’s Rockyview Play.

Aside from the play area, visitors to O-Day’Min park will enjoy plenty of greenspace including a hill for sledding in the winter! There’s an outdoor fitness area with workout equipment, a basketball court and an off-leaash dog park. The basketball court will be flooded in winter to create a skating surface!  Benches, picnic tables and even fire pits round out the amenities. The park is encircled by a white ring. From it hangs a series of swings. You may also notice that owl statues sit above to discourage nuisance birds. A pavilion with washrooms is located on the west side of the park.
