The Art of the Brick

The Art of the Brick, the world’s largest display of LEGO® art, is now open at TELUS World of Science – Edmonton!
This incredible exhibition, which features more than 100 LEGO sculptures by artist Nathan Sawaya, will be open in Edmonton from May 5 to October 9, 2023. The exhibition features a variety of different stages. The first takes visitors through recreations of some of history’s most popular and historic works of art. Among our favourites are Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”, Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” and Vincent van Gogh’s “The Starry Night”.
LEGO fans get to experience contemporary creations, including a 20-foot T-Rex as well as an incredible gallery of animal sculptures. Each animal represented is an endangered species. You’ll want to visit to see the incredible gallery of digital images by photographer Dean West, showing each of the LEGO animals set in an incredible background!
A favourite feature for our kiddos was the Open Build area. Kids can make their own special LEGO creations, name them, add their artist’s signature and put them on display! There’s also a car build-and-race area, plus a variety of unique building challenges! What can you make out of just 6 Duplo bricks? Can you create without seeing what you are building? The girls had a blast playing and building in this interactive space!
The Art of the Brick is a timed-entry feature at TELUS World of Science – Edmonton! You can pre-book your tickets online. Tickets for non-members include Science Centre day admission and range from $24.90 to $30.90 per person. Family rates are also available. Tickets for members are $5.95 per person.
We can’t wait to review the exhibit and share our experience with you!
