Summerwood Playground

Sherwood Park’s Summerwood Playground is nostalgic for me. For 9 brief months, when the girls were 2, we lived in this neighbourhood, and this was one of the playgrounds we frequented. I remember the girls scaling the little climbers, sliding across the smooth bridge surface, and chasing each other to the double twin slides! I remember them running the series of trails that extend through the greenspace beyond the park, and I remember the park’s tiny hill being perfect for little sledders.

This playground is small but fun. Now I love that the monkey bars are high – high enough for me to use without pulling up my legs, and high enough that the girls have to negotiate a way up! (Building those climbing skills!) In 2020, the Summerton spray park was added. The spray deck is based in concrete. The rest of the playground is based in sand.
