Strathcona County Sport Zone

Strathcona County LOVES its Sport Zones! They’re a mainstay during summer and school breaks at Millennium Place and Ardrossan Rec Centre. Now the County is offering something new – a Sport Zone in the Curling Rink area at Glen Allan Rec Centre!
The new Sport Zone opened in mid-April, and will run until some time in August when it’s time to put the curling ice back in. The Sport Zone is offered daily – from 9am to 9pm on Weekdays and from 8am to 8pm on Weekends – and the best part is that the giant inflatable slide is added to the mix on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 1pm!
In addition to the inflatable slide, we found a badminton court, a mini-sticks hockey rink, oversize Xs & Os and Four-In-A-Row games, giant blue building blocks, ball-catching scoops, Strike Ball set, skipping ropes, hula-hoops, and equipment to create your own obstacle course! The girls had a blast running and playing for well over an hour – and insisted we return very soon.
We expect the larger Sport Zones will also be added to Millennium Place and Ardrossan Rec Centre at some point during summer vacation, however this smaller and quieter venue will be a wonderful hidden gem, perfect for inexpensive, active play!
