St Benedict School & Ecole Leduc Estates
I absolutely love it when we stumble upon a playground and discover an ultra-cool piece of equipment. That was the case the day we visited St. Benedict School and Ecole Leduc Estates in Leduc! The girls took off while I was still getting out of the car, and it wasn’t a minute before they came charging back to me shouting “Mom, Mom, we found another warped wall!”
The warped wall is a smaller version than the one at Parkview School in Edmonton, but that doesn’t make it any less fun! What would be a riot to run up in the summers, turns into a piece of equipment that’s a riot to slide down in the winter! This warped wall features a smooth surface that doesn’t mix well with boots and snow, so climbing is nearly impossible in colder months – but the girls spent 90 percent of our visit inventing creative ways to slide down this wall!
Beyond the wall is a main structure with slides, climbers and monkey bars. There’s a great obstacle course area with rope features and balance beams, plus a large rope climber, and two rope-based saucer swings.
A short walk away is another playground with an excellent main structure full of slides, climbers and monkey bars. This park has an adorable little playhouse, the coolest spider web climber, and a swing set with 1 baby swing and 3 standard swings. The play areas sit just off the Leduc Lions rink, a basketball court, a baseball field, and at the far end of the greenspace we could see families sledding down what looks to be a great sledding hill.
