Småland at IKEA Edmonton

Whether you’re looking to buy your Kallaks and Malmos in relative peace, or just take a moment to enjoy a soft serve cone by yourself, (hey, I’m not here to judge!) I have great news for you: Småland is back at IKEA Edmonton! The popular children’s play area has been closed for the past few years. It’s undergone an update and is ready to welcome kids once again!
The girls were so excited to check out the “magical forest” playland! They loved the giant wooden shoe – you can hide inside! Other favourites were the interactive floor screen game and the cozy loft area. There are also evergreens that spin, tunnels to crawl through and the cutest little treestump tables for crafts! A kitchen play area, a car track, stuffed animals and soft soccer balls round out the offerings.
The play area is for children who are toilet trained and range in height from 37″ to 54″. Children are required to be signed in and out by the same person. That person must remain at the store while kids play. Numbered pinnies are assigned to each child. Staff supervise the entry and exit process, but aren’t responsible for supervising the play of kids on site. Socks must be worn during play. Time on site may be limited to 45-60 minutes depending on how busy the store is. The best part of all – Småland is a free service offered to IKEA shoppers!
*If you visit, you’ll see signs on the windows noting that photos and videos aren’t allowed. I asked permission before snapping my pics. The only children in my photos are my own kids.
