Rundle Heights Playground

A playground truly can be the heart of the community – I’m certain that’s what Rundle Heights Playground will mean for this neighbourhood. It’s a terrific playground with a theme, a lot of options… and a ZIPLINE!

The playground is well spaced out with a variety of equipment. There are big kid and toddler main structures, plus the zipline, an obstacle course, and a variety of swings. (4 standard, 2 baby and one 2 person swing made up of an accessible swing with a standard swing.) There are a lot of accessories here – including a spring-mounted egg for sitting in, a teeter-totter, a mushroom umbrella spinner, and a very cool corkscrew spinner. The playground carries a bit of a bug theme – there’s a butterfly climber in the toddler area, plus a climbable bee statue, hopping stools with spiders on them (they remind me of the Spiderman symbol), and our favourite – a climber designed to look like a giant spider, with 8 green post “legs” and a rope climber body.

St Jerome Catholic School and Ivor Dent School will have shared use access on this playground. This playground is based in rubber and wood chips and there are benches and picnic tables on site.
