Prescott Learning Centre
The playground at Prescott Learning Centre in Spruce Grove is an all-around good playground that will check boxes in a lot of different areas. The playground is inclusive, with a paved path to the ramped main structure. The ramped area features a variety of finger games and sensory panels, and, though broken at the time of our visit, there is a ramp onto the Burke Cruiser – a version of the wheelchair-friendly glider.
There are good options for toddlers here, including swings (3 standard, 1 baby), a teeter-totter, and a smooth-rolling wave merry-go-round. We also found a small fenced corral based in turf set away from the playground and very close to the school. I’m not certain what this little play yard is for, but I suspect it might be for the youngest kiddos.
There are elements of risky play, in the big rope climber, and the rope bridge that offers the only access to the tube slide.
This playground is based in wood chips, with one path in rubber and the turf that sits under the play yard. There are a few benches nearby but very little shade at this playground.
