I have nothing but good things to say about the new Edmonton Playground at Norwood Public School! This playground pays homage to the historic park that it replaced while offering a completely modern and inclusive play experience!

For starters, the playground’s signature feature, the helicopter has been given a new lease on life!  The old blue helicopter has been refurbished and the bright red helicopter stands proud at the front of the playground.

All the classic features of the old playground – which was packed with slides, climbers, obstacles and monkey bars – have been brought back to life in the new playground. The best part – the new space is based entirely in rubber and is inclusive. The entire surface is accessible and there are a lot of panel games and sensory features at ground level so that all kids can get in on the fun. (Of note, among the panel games, are the weather game and the raindrop sliders, neither of which we’ve encountered at playground before)

Tall historic trees remain around the park, which sits to the side of the gorgeous Norwood School building. There are benches and picnic tables on site too.
