McKernan Park
It’s tiny, but terrific – tucked into a tidy little neighbourhood, under a canopy of mature trees, sits McKernan Park.
The spray pad is spectacular – the McKernan sign fountain is nice touch, and there is a tipping bucket, plenty of ground sprayers and (my favourite) a mister! Set back in the sand are two small older-but-awesome parks – one wooden with a tire swing and curly slide, and the other metal, with a variety of climbers. The skate park includes a memorial sign dedicating it to Tyler “Teebs” Stuart. Throughout the park are plenty of benches and picnic tables, including a covered picnic area.
