Kelowna’s DeHart Park is a remarkable community space! Photo by Edmonton Playgrounds.

Kelowna’s DeHart Park is, without a doubt, one of the most incredible community destination spaces I’ve ever seen! It is SO much more than just a playground! The features of this park include:

  • Natural playground
  • Toddler playground
  • Water wheel and play area
  • Ninja and parkour play area
  • Fitness Park
  • Paved pump Track
  • Skate park
  • Basketball and pickleball courts
  • Soccer field
  • Games area with foosball and ping pong
  • Community garden
  • Picnic tables and benches
  • A fully fenced and gated dog run

The playground and other community upgrades were built around existing mature trees, including a Ponderosa Pine Tree estimated to be over 200 years old! We rode our bikes to this park and there are plenty of bike racks on site. (It was a beautiful 10km ride from Mission Creek park, done via the Greenway trail and then on paved bike lanes – message me if you’d like our route and I will share!) There is a paid parking lot on site and some limited street parking. There was a porta-potty on site at the time of our visit.
