Remember the movie “Honey, I shrunk the kids”? Playing in the Tegler Discovery Zone at the John Janzen Nature Centre feels just like that! This popular Edmonton indoor playground is designed to look and feel like wildlife habitats! Kids can play inside a bee hive, giant mushroom squirrel’s midden and more!
Explore this Edmonton indoor playground to discover unique features like a real beehive – you can watch the bees working away and watch live video of their access point! Add flower petals to giant stems to create some of Edmonton’s top flowers. Look for the giant clear handle to make the butterflies wings move. There are so many unique play and learning opportunities to explore.
Visitors are also welcome to check out the Edmonton Urban Ecology room which features unique learning opportunities and even some live animals!
This unique facility also offers birthday parties, field trip and school group programs and camps. The facility shares a parking lot with Fort Edmonton park, and there are excellent walking and nature trails in the outdoor areas near the centre and along the North Saskatchewan River!
