The new playground at JJ Nearing Catholic School in St. Albert has a lot of fun features! Among my favourites is the risky play climber stretching between the two slide towers on the main play structure!

Stretching out from the slide towers is a neat obstacle course featuring monkey bars, gliders and climbers. There’s also a flexible version of the warped wall that was very popular with little kids when we were there. (So much so that I don’t have a photo of it!)

A second, smaller playground indicated equipment for kids aged 5-12, but could definitely be considered more of a toddler park.

Accessory features about at this playground. I suspect some of them may be holdovers from the previous playground. (I love that – why not reuse features that are still in good condition!)  There is a Supernova (circle) spinner, double red spinners, bucket spinners, a trio of “motorcycle” spring riders and a cool rock climbing area with a big spider web in the centre. Accessories in the new section include seat spinners and a device we can only call the Pogo Stick!!!

Three saucer swings stretch across the back of this park. There are also 4 standard swings in the centre of the playground. This playground is based in wood chips. There are benches but no shade.
