Jennifer Park
Jennifer Park is home to a cute little playground in St. Albert. The bright yellow and blue equipment carries a bit of a beach theme – a nod to the beach community of Jensen Lakes.
The main structure includes a variety of climbers, monkey bars and slides, set up in a bit of an obstacle course. You can “be a playground detective” and hunt for hidden images on plackards around the park. (hint: some of them are tucked underneath the structure!) Accessory pieces here include a spinner, a canoe spring-rider, swings (1 baby and 3 standard) and a jump measuring board.
There are some benches and a picnic table located next to this playground. The picnic table offers 3 benches and one space which could offer access to someone who uses a wheelchair. The table is set along a paved pathway, and there is a ramp access from the road onto the sidewalk. It’s great to see these inclusive features added to the playground amenities. I just wish the playground had been based in rubber or turf to extend the inclusive nature to the play area itself.
