Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Ardrossan has replaced one of its 3 school playgrounds! (Fall 2026). The new purple and yellow playground is a great addition to the school yard, which also has a newer green playground (2020) and a much older play space.
The standout to me at the two newer playgrounds at Holy Redeemer is the abundance of upper body features! These playgrounds offer tons of monkey bars, rings, wheels and other hanging features, something my ninja kids totally love!
Other features at the new purple and yellow park include a big curly slide, an umbrella spinner, a four-seat teeter-totter and a bank of swings (4 standard and 1 saucer swing)
The green playground, which was replaced in 2020, has a most unusual feature – it’s a spinning corkscrew. We’ve encountered these at only 2 other Edmonton Playgrounds – Grovenor Park and Windsor Park.
Beyond the green playground is a smaller and much older playground. It also has a huge swing set with 8 standard swings.
All 3 playgrounds are based in sand. There are no shade trees near any of the parks.
