George P Nicholson School

Kids who love monkey bars, obstacle courses and playing grounders will all love the new playground at George P Nicholson School!

I love how well-spaced this playground is, with room for kids to run between elements! It’s packed with equipment and really feels like a large park with a ton of options to suit almost everyone.

The main structure offers two long and zippy slides and a challenging climber, the Silo Scramble, as a way up. (among others.) We love the long and varied obstacle course that extends from this part of the park. There are tons of monkey bars and monkey bar alternatives, plus climbers, balance and agility options, and more.

There is a small toddler section to the park with a tiny structure, natural obstacle course and musical equipment.

A few standouts in our mind are the double set of hanging arm sliders and the variety of swings. (4 standard, 1 baby, 1 accessible and 1 saucer) Still to come at this playground are a tall rope merry-go-round and the bike trail that will likely open in Spring 2024. This playground is based mostly in wood chips, with a small bit of rubber under the future merry-go-round. There are picnic tables and benches nearby and nice clusters of trees for shade. This playground will serve George P Nicholson School as well as the Twin Brooks Community.
