Father Michael Mireau School
Playground Update – July 2023: There’s been a fire at Father Michael Mireau School. The main part of the toddler playground is burned and virtually destroyed. Fencing is in place around the toddler park, but the rest of the playground appears to be unaffected. July 24, 2023
The playground at Father Michael Mireau School in Summerside is an incredible addition to the community. The fact that it’s one of the few Zipline playgrounds in Edmonton is one thing – but there’s so much more to this amazing play place!
We love the variety of climbers this playground offers – there’s a freestanding rope climber, as well as a curtain-style climber and the tall piece of equipment known as the Silo Scramble. (Rope climbers and equipment are SO perfect for an Edmonton winter!) The adorable playhouse is a big draw too. It has everything imaginative kids would want: a rainbow skylight, a pizza wheel where you can choose your own meal, a working mail slot and a pet door with a real flap! The toddler park is an extensive space with a toddler structure, a merry go round, a natural play area and a ladybug bouncer.
This park is based in wood chips and rubber, and has plenty of benches and picnic tables. The only swing is a raft swing. There is a small shale bike trail around the park, and the field beyond has a hill for sledding in winter!
