Calgary’s Cornerstone Meadows Heath Park

It’s called the “Branch Out”. This tree is an incredible piece of play equipment that offers a ton of play value packed into a small space. There really isn’t much to Cornerstone Meadows Heath Park – but it was high on my priority list for our visit to Calgary, simply because I knew the girls would go crazy for this unique tree!
And did they ever! We probably played for an hour at this small-but-mighty playground. The Branch Out offers ways to climb, traverse, balance, and so much more! Littler kids will love climbing on the trunk, trying the low ropes, and of course, the slide. Bigger kids (and adults) will find navigating around the ropes course a fun challenge!
In addition to the Branch Out, there are 3 adorable spring riders, plus a spring-mounted balance beam and a twisting core board. There is a small swing set at this playground too, plus benches and picnic tables. The playground is well set back from roads in all directions, and is based in wood chips.
I have it on good authority that Calgary will be getting a couple more playgrounds with Branch Outs in the near future! I hope we get one in Edmonton soon! You can learn more about this cool playground feature HERE.
