Charles Simmonds Park is a tucked away hidden gem in Edmonton’s McKernan neighbourhood. The playground sits at the northwest corner of the greenspace, far back from roads, and only close to alleys. There are 3 sections to the park. The biggest has a main play structure with climbers and slides, as well as a toddler and sensory play section. There are a couple of accessory features here too, including a spinner and a spring-rider. This part of the park includes low monkey bars, perfect for kids learning to monkey!

A tall rope climber is the main feature in the second section of the park. There is also a unique climber that reminds me a bit of a bug. The third section contains a bank of swings – 2 standard and 2 baby – along with a saucer swing.

This is a perfect summer park as it features tons of trees for shade and a picnic shelter. All play areas are based in wood chips.
