Story Mill Park in Bozeman, Montana is an amazing playground in a picturesque and historic city! The playground is set at the back of a beautiful greenspace. There’s a large parking lot, bathroom buildings and a community centre. There are tons of benches, picnic tables and some covered picnic sites too.

The playground seemingly goes forever – see my video tour below! I’ll share in point form the best features for toddlers and big kids.

Features for toddlers:
  • Road system with painted lines and even reflectors around the corners!
  • Grain elevator climber with slides
  • Small slide built into the hill
  • Longhorn bison skull climber
  • Swings (standard, baby and saucer)
Features for big kids:
  • Elevator climber with 2 slides
  • Giant Osprey climber
  • Chairlift swing
  • Long slide built into the hill (climb stairs or boulders to access it)
  • Norm’s boulder giant climber
  • Accessory area that includes a variety of spinners

We found the city of Bozeman to be lovely and picturesque! Part of our afternoon was spent riding the Painted Hills mountain bike trail that is part of the Mainstreet to Mountains trail system. We also had dinner in downtown Bozeman and walked near the Public Library and University to check out the Bozeman Sculpture Park. And it just so happened that our visit was on the Fourth of July, so we were treated to an epic community fireworks show to end our day!
