Best Ninja Playgrounds in Edmonton

This list of the Best Ninja Playgrounds in Edmonton is made possible by Elemental Ninja YEG, Edmonton’s newest ninja and parkour gym!
Are your kids ninjas? Always challenging themselves to new, risky stunts at playgrounds? If so, these risky-play playgrounds in Edmonton are for you! These are the best ninja playgrounds in Edmonton and area.

1. Parkview School Playground
- Variations on warped wall have been popping up at a number of Edmonton and area playgrounds. None are as tall as the one at Parkview School – it’s legit! This “Victory Wall”, as it’s called by this company, offers two heights of walls to run up with bells at the top and a fire pole to return to the ground. The tallest wall is the real challenge – and parents, I strongly recommend a good warmup before you attempt a wall!
- Location: Parkview School Playground, 14313-92 Avenue, Edmonton

2. Joey Moss School
- The first thing my girls noticed at the playground at Joey Moss School was the cliffhangers (pictured above). This great playground also has a variety of climbing equipment, a neat circuit set up and a smaller version of the warped wall. (We also love tht this playground is orange and blue to honour Joey’s legacy!)
- Location: Joey Moss School, 1905 – 182 Street SW, Edmonton

3. Cavanagh Parkour Park
- One of the first “natural” playgrounds to hit Edmonton a few years back, the Cavanagh Parkour Park features a wood and rope circuit that will challenge playground-goers of all ages! This playground also features a slide built into a hill and a cute treehouse that even toddlers will love!
- Location: Cavanagh Parkour Park, 2820 Collins Cres. SW, Edmonton

4. Baturyn Playground
- This is a playground that will appeal to ninjas, teens and kids of all ages! In addition to the standard playground equipment, Baturyn Playground features an amazing obstacle course with high monkey bars, ninja steps and more! This playground has a few more special features including a musical merry-go-round, tandem swings and a paved tarmac with basketball nets and ground games.
- Location: Baturyn Playground, 10505 – 172 Avenue, Edmonton

5. Kensington School Playground
- Kensington School made a splash with the opening of its new playground in Fall 2024 – for a number of reasons! It’s the first playground in the school’s 60+ year history, a fully-inclusive space for all kids to play AND it has Edmonton’s first in-ground trampoline! It also has some pretty fun ninja gear including ninja steps, gymnastics bars and cool climbers!
- Location: Kensington School, 13410-119 Street, Edmonton

6. Avonmore Playground
- Avonmore Playground is an example of an all-around great park! It has toddler and big-kid playgrounds, a spray park, tons of accessories, shade, a picnic shelter and more. Add in its MASSIVE ropes course and you just may have the perfect playground! The ropes course is a great challenge for all ages, because the things kids find hard may be easier for adults and vise-versa.
- Location: Avonmore Playground, 7902-73 Avenue, Edmonton

7. Hardisty School Playground
- Hardisty School Playground makes our list of Best Ninja Playgrounds not only for the massive new climber that was added as part of the playgrounds phase 2, but also for the cool obstacle course set up in the original playground!
- Location: Hardisty School, 10535 – 62 Street, Edmonton

8. L.Y. Cairns School Playground
- The playground at L.Y. Cairns School is a mix of fitness park, gymnastics park and ninja park. It features balance equipment, high monkey bars, obstacle challenges and more. There is also a basketball court at this park.
- Location: L.Y. Cairns School, 10510 – 45 Avenue, Edmonton

9. Highlands School Playground
- Two massive rope climbers, balance equipment and a ninja ramp wall are all features that we think make the playground at Highlands School worthy of being on our Best Ninja Playgrounds list!
- Location: Highlands School, 6015 – 118 Avenue, Edmonton

10. Alex Janvier School
- Alex Janvier School Playground is a huge, colourful playground is packed with obstacle, climbing and balance challenges! My girls like to do “colour challenges” – can you complete the circuit only touching or omitting a specific colour? It also features the Grand Strand – a massive rope climber!
- Location: Alex Janvier School, 9535 – 167 Street, Edmonton
