Belmont School

I have a saying in which I strongly believe. I think that there are No Bad Parks. But I find that even I’m guilty of seeing an “older” playground and thinking to myself that my kids might not want to play at it. After all, they’ve visited (literally) hundreds of playgrounds, and we’ve had the good fortune to play at some of the coolest and newest playgrounds. Then I have an experience like we did at Belmont School and I’m reminded why I believe there are No Bad Parks.

Belmont is a large playground, but it’s showing its age and has suffered some vandalism over the years. When we arrived, I wasn’t sure what the girls would think, but they made a beeline for the park and immediately declared it to be their “mansion” and they started dividing up the spaces. They took me on tours of all the rooms and challenged me to obstacle course races. We had so much fun!

This playground has climbers, slides, monkey bars and swings (4 standard, 2 baby). There’s a car, a large four-seat teeter-totter, and a small, four-corner spring-mounted teeter-totter. The playground is based in sand and the main structure is ramped.
