Art Gallery of Alberta for Kids

Is the Art Gallery of Alberta for kids? Absolutely! Edmonton Playgrounds offers tips on what makes this top Edmonton attraction an awesome spot to visit with little ones, year-round!
CHILDREN’S GALLERY
The Art Gallery of Alberta features a small children’s gallery on the main floor! The theme changes periodically. The space usually features a play space as well as a selection of books, fitting to the theme, for children and their families to enjoy. There current children’s gallery is “ᐋᐧᐸᑲᐧᓃᐊᐧᐣ Wâpakwanîwin (To bloom, it has many flowers)” featuring work from artist Christi Belcourt. This feature will be open until November 26, 2023.

PROGRAMS FOR KIDS
When my girls were preschoolers, we loved taking in the daytime programs, like Tours for Tots, at the AGA! We also love attending the monthly All Day Sunday events which include art-making stations for families. The AGA also offers registered art classes for kids, camps, stroller tours and more!
AGA Programs:
- Tours for Tots – Every Wednesday at 10am
- All Day Sundays – Second Sunday of the month from 12pm-4pm
- Stroller Tours – Final Wednesday of the month at 11am
