Aleda Patterson School
When the Aleda Patterson School building was replaced a couple of years back, the playground remained standing during construction. It’s easy to see why – this “older-but-still-awesome” playground is packed with play value!
The girls immediately gravitated to the Supernova Circle – one of our favourite pieces of playground equipment. It sits in the ribbon of pour-in-place rubber surfacing that runs through the centre of this playground.
There are 2 large main structures and each offers climbers, slides and monkey bar variations. One of these two larger structures is ramped. There are a lot of accessory pieces within this playground, including the Supernova Cirlce, a four-set teeter-totter, swings (2 standard and 2 saucer) and a sand play station.
Benches and picnic tables are available on site. There are several mature trees, primarily on the south edge of the playground, and they offer a good deal of shade. A large green space extends beyond the playground, but the field was fenced at the time of our visit.
