Delwood Park
Older-but-still-awesome wooden playgrounds, like this little one at Delwood Park, share a few common features to which my kids always seem to gravitate: First, they love the wooden platform structures, which always spark adventure and imaginative play. Bonus points for parks with rope assisted climbing walls, often completely vertical ones – they’re a great challenge. The monkey bars and rings always seem a little higher and a little swingier at older parks. (I love that they’re higher, because I can try them too!) Balance beams, bridges and unique ladders are all older wooden park features that we love. Delwood Park offers all of these things, plus a few slides, a couple of spring riders, a spring mounted teeter-totter, swings (2 baby and 6 standard) and a bright yellow car with red tires! The playground is based in sand and there are benches and picnic tables on site.
