Westridge Wolf Willow Playground

Westridge Wolf Willow Playground is truly one of Edmonton’s gems! It has an ultra-rare piece of playground equipment – we lovingly call it the “human hamster wheel”! One kid can curl up inside the wheel and someone else can spin it, allowing the child inside to do a full 360!

In Summer 2024 this playground was updated. We noticed 3 main changes:
-The Hamster Wheel was moved to a new location near the toddler playground.
-A massive new climbing circuit was installed at the centre of the park.
-Two pieces were added to the sand pit next to the dino bones – a safari truck and a turtle-themed sensory play station.

The main structures of the playground remain. Here you’ll find:
-An extensive toddler playground with a climbing boulder, slides, climbers and a working race car game! This structure is ramped.
-A huge “big kid” playground that consists of a tall tower with long slides and an extensive obstacle course looping out the back.
-A sand pit with swing set (4 standard, 2 baby) and climbable dinosaur bones.

The majority of this playground is based in woodchips, with the swings and bones set in sand. There is a paved walking path through the playground that allows access to the ramped play structure.

Westridge Wolf Willow Playground has plenty of benches and picnic tables and lots of mature trees for shade. There is an extensive greenspace beyond the playground and excellent access to fantastic walking trails, the Patricia Ravine, and the River Valley. There is usually a porta-potty on site at this playground.
