The perfect playground doesn’t exi….
Wait, Swalwell Park in Lake Country, BC, just might be the closest thing you’ll ever find to a perfect playground. It’s massive, offers great amenities like shade, bathrooms, water fountains and parking, AND it’s packed with fun for all ages!
Let’s start with the playground. This is a new playground in Lake Country which opened in Spring 2026. The main structure features a tall slide tower with a rocker transfer! There are also arm sliders, climbers, monkey bars and more.
Fun accessory features include a giant rope glider swing, and in-ground merry-go-round and an in-ground trampoline!
The toddler play areas are equally adorable. There is a dome shaped toddler main structure with a lot of options including ropes and a slide. A unique configuration of climbable leaves sits in the middle of the playground. A large swing set offers 2 standard swings, 2 baby swings and 1 saucer swing.
The Trethewey Splash Park isn’t new, but it is completely adorable! A huge apple sprayer sits in the middle of the splash area, which also features bug-themed sprayers, ground sprayers and a water play station.
Swalwell Park is home to one of the most impressive workout parks I’ve ever seen! There is a wide variety of equipment for strength and agility work, including kettle bells mounted on poles, rings, wheels and monkey bars. A timing apparatus is also part of the set up so you can set a stopwatch for circuit training!
Finally, Swalwell Park is home to a large skate park and skate bowl.
Don’t forget to snap a photo at the cute flower cutout sign before you leave! We lucked out and visited on a Thursday in Summer 2026, which also happened to be the local farmers’ market day. There’s nothing better than a playground visit complete with fresh fruits and veggies!
