Edgemont Community Playground is a new Edmonton Playground (2026) showcasing a number of pieces of unique playground equipment! The first item that stands out as soon as you approach this park is a basket-style net suspended from 3 tall poles! This is the first of its kind in Edmonton – though I understand that there are Calgary playgrounds with this piece of equipment.
The playground is divided into two sections – one for toddlers and one for bigger kids. Both have typical main structures with climbers and slides. The big kid area has accessories including a spinner, a balance beam and a saucer swing. Ninja steps sit near the start of the park. (My ninjas feel they are too close together to be fun or challenging, though they made the most of it by hopping all ten on a single leg each) A tall board with handles set across each side is another piece that offers a unique challenge.
A long teeter-totter, a half-circle climber and a panel with musical features and a cute snow cone imagination stand all add fun to the toddler park. There are also two baby swings in this part of the playground.
This playground is based in wood chips and surrounded by paved trails and plenty of grass. There are lots of benches and picnic tables, but no shade. I believe a school is planned for the field to the North of the playground.
