Florian Park (Firetruck Park)

Sherwood Park’s Firetruck Park is back!  The new playground at Florian Park, a.k.a. Firetruck Park, reopened in July 2026!

The previous version of Firetruck Park was removed to make way for Ecole Claudette-et-Denis Tardif which opened, along with its own cool playground in Fall 2025.  A few pieces of the previous Florian Park showed up in the updated Sherwood Heights Playground too.

Residents of The Ridge neighbourhood will be excited to see that the original firetruck is back – though updated! The two-piece firetruck is now an inclusive space. It no longer has monkey bars and slides out the back – this version sits on a cement pad, offering an accessible play space.  It has steering wheels and a couple of fire bells too!

There is a second firetruck just steps away – that truck has two slides out the back and a variety of other features like climbers and finger games. There is an accessory panel nearby and a two-seat spring-rider too, plus a cute little fire hydrant!

Florian Park also means another Zipline Park in Sherwood Park!   Hearthstone Playground  and Glen Allan School Playground both have Ziplines.  The main structure is really neat too, with lots of climbers, slides, trees and more. There is a large bank of swings with 5 standard swings, 2 baby swings and one accessible swing.

Accessory features at this playground include a rope merry-go-round spinner, a bucket spinner and a little playhouse. There are benches nearby, but little shade. Parking can be found in the school parking lot, when available, or along the street and the trail system connects to the playground. Woodchips are the base of this playground.
