Edmonton Playgrounds Calgary's Eau Claire Plaza Playground 1
We love the giant fish climber at Calgary’s Eau Claire Plaza Playground! The jumping rainbow trout is among many amazing features of this small but super playground. Photo by Edmonton Playgrounds.

Playgrounds aren’t just for kids! The new (Fall 2025) playground in Calgary’s Eau Claire Plaza is a great example of this! The centrepiece of the playground is a fabulous 360 degree climbing wall with holds all the way around the outside – and the inside too! It’s a great feature that invites people of all ages to play or work out!

The giant jumping rainbow trout climber is also covered in holds to allow kids to climb to the top. The rainbow trout is a nod to the Bow River, which is just a short walk from the plaza.

Other features of this fabulous playground include an in-ground trampoline, spring-mounted leaf bouncers, a net-based saucer swing and a small climbing obstacle course with wood and rope features and ring holds.

Eau Claire Plaza Playground is located just outside the Eau Claire Athletic Club and just a short walk from the Bow River Pathway to Prince’s Island. We parked in the large paid parking lot to the southeast of the park – located right beside the Joey Eau Claire restaurant.
