Jasper’s Marmot Basin is a lot like the province of Alberta itself! The people are friendly, the views are breathtaking and you’ll have a ton of fun when you visit!

For the past couple of years our family has made regular visits to Marmot for skiing. It’s quickly become one of our favourite hills – and it’s easy to see why! The ski area is massive, the snow is good and it offers the best ski deal in the rockies!

A ski deal that can’t be beat!

I’m not one to bury the lede. Skiing is expensive. Marmot Basin makes it a little less so. The best deal of them all? Kids ski or board AND rent FREE Mondays through Fridays for the Winter 2026 ski season! (Offer is for kids 12 & under) Take advantage of those school break days and hit the hill for a day of skiing that won’t break the bank!

If weekends are your ski jam, you’re in luck! Marmot also brought back the Family Package for the 2025/26 season. A family of 2 adults and 2 kids (17 & under) can enjoy weekend ski lift tickets for $349 plus tax! It’s important to note, you must book this package online before you arrive – it’s not offered at the walk-up window!

Looking for other ways to save? Good news, there are a couple of them. First, you can purchase a Marmot Escape Card, which offers half-price on full-day lift tickets all season long! AMA members can also use their cards to save on lift tickets.

The mountain

Marmot’s claim to fame? It offers the highest base elevation of any major Canadian ski area! Ski over 1,700 acres of terrain on five mountain faces. (That’s why the mountain always seems quiet when you’re there – there is simply so much space to ski!) Choose from 5 quad chairs, 1 triple and a magic carpet and enjoy a balanced mix of terrain types, (beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert) plus fun features like tree trails, terrain parks, moguls and more!

Skiers can enjoy Marmot from late November until early May – one of the longest ski seasons around! The mind temperatures and great snow make for comfortable skiing the whole season long!
