Green Shack Programs
Every Summer, the City of Edmonton offers Green Shack Programs at community league playground locations all around the city. Activities include games, sports, crafts, music, drama and more. It’s free to drop in to Green Shack programs and advance registration isn’t required. Programming is aimed at kids ages 6 to 12, but all ages are welcome.
Green Shack morning programs run from 10am-1pm, and afternoon programs run from 2pm-5pm. Select sites offer full-day programming. For summer 2026 Green Shack programs will be operating from Monday, July 29, 2026 to Friday, August 21, 2026. You can find the full list of Green Shack locations and the hours they offer HERE.
Capital Power Summer Legends
New for Summer 2026 is the Capital Power Summer Legends Program! Sport Edmonton, Athletics Alberta, the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues, and the City of Edmonton have teamed up with Capital Power to offer the Summer Legends Program at 26 Green Shack locations around Edmonton!
This program bring FREE, drop-in athletics-based programming to Green Shack locations to help kids and families enjoy sports activities! Offerings include running, jumping, throwing, games and fun right at your community playground. Activities happen at 11am and 3pm daily, until August 20, at the participating Green Shack locations. Green Shack Shows
The Edmonton Arts Council parters with the City of Edmonton to bring Green Shack Shows to neighbourhoods throughout the city all summer long! From Monday, July 6, 2026 to Thursday, August 20, 2026 catch a Green Shack Show in a neighbourhood near you! Shows run daily at 11am and 2:30pm. Find the full schedule of Green Shack Shows HERE.
