We’re always big fans of cool climbers! I think they’re an excellent option at school playgrounds for a couple of reasons – first, because tons of kids can pile on them at the same time, and second, in the case of rope climbers, they’re great for an Alberta winter!

The girls immediately ran to the huge new rope climber at John Paul II school in Stony Plain! Beyond the climber, my two were excited to test out the obstacle course layout, the plethora of other climber and the monkey bars.

This playground is definitely geared toward school-aged children, though there are a couple of features that younger kiddos may like, including a classic car, some panel games and a couple of smaller slides.

This playground sits on the edge of a green space and is located on Stony Plain’s great trail system. The playground is based in wood chips and there are a couple of trees for shade.
