Missoula Montana Dragon Hollow Playground

As fun to play on as it is to look at! The Missoula Montana Dragon Hollow playground has been on my list of must-visit playgrounds forever, and we finally got to check it out on a recent road trip!
According to the Travel Montana website, the playground was built in 2001 and updated in 2019. The playground is a fully-fenced site with a towering dragon castle that is a wooden maze of steps, slides and tunnels. Behind the main structure is a rubber-based play area with a low merry-go-round, a tall rope merry-go-round, a swing set, a fairy tale-themed climbing wall and more. There is a separate toddler area that was partially under construction during our 2024 visit.
Visitors will find musical features, finger mazes and puzzles throughout the play area. There is not a lot of shade in the playground, but there is a misting station for the hot summer days!
This playground is located right beside “A Carousel for Missoula“, a classic carousel that is open to the public daily, year-round. Both are located beside a pay parking lot in the heart of the city of Missoula.
